Killens Pond State Park
Fling & Ching at Killens 2009

Thanks to everyone who played the Fling & Ching.  The field holes were fun, glad everyone liked them.

Rob Vender won Open shooting an 84 on the 25 hole layout.  I'll get the results done later today.

In Women's Open, Becky Sonnheim won by 4 over CJ Krick at her house.  Also, there was a reporter from ShoreWoman Magazine, Lisa, was doing research for an artice on disc golf.  She interviewed Becky prior to the event and she walked 18 holes with the Women's Open threesome.  I imagine she got a great amount of material to use.  She said she would send me several copies to distribute.

John Spence was the lone Adv player and Greg Sz was the lone Am.  Strange when the Pros outnumber the Ams.

Mr. Spence also ACED the after-CTP for a t-shirt and sunglasses.  Then he donated a raffle ticket for CTP which I won.  Hopefully the $2500 winner!

Fling & Ching:  May 8, 2010

Twenty-seven (27) competitors braved high winds and spring temperatures at the 2010 Fling & Ching at Killen’s Pond hosted by Tony “Ching Ching” Mastrangelo.  Players played the White Course (middle tees) both rounds.

In the Open division, Nick Tiligadas played solid golf all day, shooting at 50 in the first round, then shooting a par 54 (104) in the second to seal the win over Adam Vanderslice (111).

Trevor Willey and Fudd ended the day tied for the lead in the Masters division at 114, leading to play-off action.  Fudd took the win on Hole 1, scoring a 3, and Trevor a bogey 4.  Smackingtrees shot a 119 to win 3rd, and Tony Ching Ching, crept into a cash spot from the second group to get 4th.

Mary Red continues to dominate the Open Women’s division the past couple weeks (Winning Birdiefest and Fling & Ching), shooting at 147 to edge out Sarah Patterson.

Virginian Travis Foreman blew away the Advanced division shooting a 54 and 55 (109).  Bryan Adams won Intermediate shooting 129 shots on the day.
